Carnlough Harbour. Village of Carnlough in County Antrim, Northern Ireland
Our tour of small Irish towns continues with an overnight stop in Carnlough (karn-LOCK). Located in County Antrim, on the northeast coast of Northern Ireland, Carnlough overlooks the Irish Sea with lovely scenery and numerous beautiful views. The village was the first overnight on our 15-day tour of Ireland.

The harbour in Carnlough was especially picturesque, with colorful boats on still water and bordered by a main street featuring multi-hued buildings. I had the priviledge of spending both an evening and an early morning exploring the town with my camera.

One bonus of our stay at The Harbourview Hotel was that it had a very nice pub and whiskey bar, and the owners are affiliated with a small distillery. A whiskey tasting provided a welcome reward after such a “grueling” day. 😉
