What better symbol of Vermont than a Ben & Jerry’s? While this is not the original – it was torn down long ago – this one is the flagship store in downtown Burlington. The factory is located a few miles east in Waterbury, but the store and visitor center are undergoing renovation and currently closed. We made do with this one. What flavor did we choose? New York Super Fudge Chunk – Chocolate Ice Cream with White & Dark Fudge Chunks, Pecans, Walnuts & Fudge-Covered Almonds!

Once upon a time, I had a cone at the old gas station store. Then, years later, when my son Luca was in college in Burlington, we visited the new store. Fun – and Burlington is a great town.

We had a nice time in Burlington. We did a cruise on the lake and spent some time walking around town. It’s too bad the old gas station wasn’t retained – it would certainly be a landmark now.

Ah, lovely! Burlington was one of my favorite overnights when I worked as a flight attendant. We’d catch a shuttle downtown and wander around looking for a place to eat. I have a lot of images from this town. Ya, brought back memories. That flavor would have been my choice, also.

I can see the attraction for a short stopover. Plenty of choices, lots to do but not too big. I’ve been eating too much this trip but wasn’t about to forego the opportunity for ice cream!

Now that’s a place for souvenirs!

The souvenirs here were consumed on site, so they don’t take up room in the car. Except a little bit on the front seats. 😉
