Boat cruise along the Slieve League Cliffs with Sliabh Liag Boat Trips. Carrick, County Donegal
Sliabh Liag is the Irish name for a portion of the southwest Ireland coastline along the Wild Atlantic Way in County Donegal. Spelled in English as Slieve League (sleeve league) the cliffs get their name from the 1,972 foot high mountain called Sliabh Liag. Said to be the highest sea cliffs in Europe, they can be viewed by land on a series of walking paths and a viewing platform, or from the sea by means of a boat tour. We opted for the boat tour and found it to be a very worthwhile and rewarding experience.

The boat cruise was included as part of our 15 Day tour, and was operated by Sliabh Liag Boat Trips. Our captain and guide was a local native and seasoned sailor, and entertained us with tales and stories about the cliffs. We enjoyed a beautiful sunshiny day with calm seas, making for good sightseeing and photography.
