The first day of our 6 Day Great Southern Tour took us to the charming waterfront town of Kinsale (kinSALE). Kinsale is a town of about 6000 people in County Cork, on the shore of the River Bandon just upstream from where river flows into the Celtic Sea.

Because we had a long drive from Dublin with several stops, we arrived at our hotel with just enough time to drop our luggage and head out for dinner. We enjoyed one of the best dinners of the whole trip at a lovely seafood restaurant named – appropriately enough – Fishy Fishy. 🙂

Photography had to wait until after dinner, but the wait was worthwhile, as we were treated to some true ‘Blue Hour’ light. The reflections on the mostly still water and the contrast of the warm street lamps and building lights made for several nice scenes.

I could go back and spend more time there. It was both beautiful and relaxing.
