Excellent! It’s killing me that I’m not in Eagle Harbor this past week (OK, I’m in Tuscany, but still….) because the images I’ve seen of the aurora have been knock-yer-socks-off crazy good.

Cool that you saw it that far south!

Yes, it’s a little tough to be sympathetic that you are in Tuscany instead of Eagle Harbor! 🙂

My brother and family live on Lake Erie just west of Cleveland, and they have been seeing some fabulous displays.

Now that I’ve tried it once and have a better idea what to do – like a wider lens! – I’m anxious to try it again whenever we get another opportunity.

    Congratulations!

I imagine folks in the way northern latitudes chuckle a little bit at our excitement. I’ve been wondering if the storms have been more frequent this year, or I am just paying more attention to the forecasts.

I was out also, still reviewing some of the photos.

Thanks, Mark. I made some obvious errors in my first attempt but it was pretty sweet to have the chance. Thankfully I’ve figured out how to work my camera and had it set up before I left the house. There was another photographer near me who kept complaining that she couldn’t figure out what settings to use.

It seems like the auroras are becoming visible this far south with more frequency. A few years ago I never dreamed about seeing one here.
